Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” – John 4:13,14

“…As a Man Thinketh in His Heart so is He” – Prov 23:7

In his book “As a Man Thinketh”, author James Allen writes:

Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace.

Running into Jesus

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,..”The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Mathew 25:35-40

Several months back, I had stopped and pulled into a convenience store to pick up a money order and a bottled water. She entered the store and asked the clerk behind the counter, “have you got anything for me today?”. Continue reading

Seek the LORD while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. – Isaiah 55:6

The sign advertising for the local casino on the interstate billboard reads, “We Make Winners!”. My friend, if you believe that as country music artist George Strait sings, “I’ve got some Ocean Front Property in Arizona” you might be interested in as well. Continue reading

The Ever Narrowing Way

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few”. – Mathew 7:13-14

There you are…cruising along with your favorite tunes or radio broadcast in the background as you’re driving along on the busy interstate highway along with the other motorists on your way to your intended destination. Not a care in the world as you reflect on how good your life is and how God has so richly blessed you. Continue reading

Life in the Faith Lane

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” – James 4:13-15

How would you like to spend 2 years making phone calls to people who aren’t home? Sound absurd? According to one time management study, that’s how much time the average person spends trying to return calls to people who never seem to be in. Continue reading

Casual Christianity

hot-and-cold

“I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! – Revelation 3:15-16

One of my favorite scenes in the newest Kendrick Brothers film “War Room” is when Miss Clara (a passionate elderly Christian) asks a young woman named Elizabeth if she attends church and she responds, “occasionally.” Continue reading

It’s A God Thing

MTI3NTgyMjIyODM5NTUxMjUw

But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. – James 1:6-8

I love bragging on God and today I get to do just that.

My wife, Karen has been desiring a piano for many years to have in our home. Continue reading

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” ~ Romans 15:7

I was speaking with someone last week which shared with me about some of the difficulties they were experiencing at their workplace. Most of these difficulties stemmed from some of their co-workers that made it very difficult to have an enjoyable day. Continue reading

God’s Invisible Pathway

2016-02-17_18-09-25

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. – Isaiah 43:19

Karen and I were honored a couple Sundays ago to pray for a young man which had come to the altar for prayer. When asked about his need and how he desired to see God move in his life, his answer was so sincere and took boldness on his part to come forward and express his need for deliverance in his life.
